Mini nationals 2012 – Race report.

Well 6 of us made the trip over to SERCCC in Dandenong for the mini nats.
For some of us it went fairly well to plan, for others of us it went far from any plan.
The weather was some of the best weather you could hope for over the weekend. Not too hot, not too cool, but just right. The control tires took some getting used to but I think by the end of the weekend most had it worked out, even though you had worn through the tires by the time you got there.

The Geelong crew had cars in every class. Mini, open mini and 4wd mini. In open mini Mark managed to get his car into the B final, Rick and Steve into the C final, and Ned, Attila and Paul (dead last) into the D final.
Once the finals started it was on like donkey Kong. Ned, Attila, and Paul all made and appearance in the A-Mail final. (Check the video on you tube) as marshals, but at least we can say we were in the A-main. The A-main was taken out by Brad in the end with some nice close racing. The B finals seen Mark finish 6th over all in that class. The C final seen Rick finish in 7th place and Steve in 9th although he only ran one final. As for the D well Attila finished in 3rd, Paul in 6th (after a count back so more like = 4th) and Ned in 8th.

Now most importantly Mark managed to take home the raffle prize. So I'm sure he will have some spare mini parts now.

For the rest of the results check SERCCC as I'm running out of room here.

So we look forward to the 2013 nats in Morningtion, and hope there are even more Geelong members attending.
